Easter
the sun is shining as we crowd into the sanctuary
the trumpets tune up
while the choir gathers in the narthex
for a Resurrection Procession
and after Resurrection worship (x3)
when everyone's at brunch
or searching for easter eggs
we pause from the work of church life
to enjoy the day
warm sunshine contrasting cool air
the garden (might be) growing (soon)
might as well get outside
it was snowing the other day, it'll be hot soon,
but today, today we know how blessed we are
trying to pay attention to what's going on in the world around me
